The ancient prophet Ezekiel's message about an invasion of Israel has intrigued and confounded it's readers for 2,500 years. Who is Gog and what is the land of Magog? How could this prophecy come true when the Jews were aliens from their Promised Land? Then the miraculous rebirth of the nation Israel stunned the world in 1948. They were immediately attacked by neighboring nations, but they survived and have defeated every foe that has arisen. Now there are terrorists striking at them almost every day and enemies that have sworn to wipe them off the face of the earth.
Hassan Rouhani has been elected president of Iran in place of Ayatollah Khamenei. However, nothing has changed in spite of Rouhani's claims to the contrary. The change has occurred because Iran is feeling pain from the sanctions; but they are still unwilling to comply with the international demands to halt their nuclear program. This pressure only increases the likelihood that Iran will strike Israel.
It seems impossible that Israel will ever have a time when they will live without fear. Yet that is what Ezekiel tells us. We've seen other barriers fall. Why should we doubt?
